Posh Spice designs a Range Rover
I Just love it...Girl Power to the max. Victoria 'Posh Spice' Beckham sang little ditties in the nineties and now she is designing for one of the most reputable car companies in the world. Is there nothing mildly talented people cannot do these days? I am sure this gives hope to millions of tweens in their bedrooms signing into their hairbrushes. Popular culture seems to render anything accessible. When I first read the caption that Mrs Bekham had designed for Range Rover I wondered how she'd transgressed from fashion designer to mechanical engineer. How speedy university degrees are in this modern world! I considered her career path: ordinary girl - pop star - footballers wife - mummy - Tom Cruise's buddy - fashion designer - mummy again - car designer. Is there nothing this gal can't do? What talent! She specified rose gold tints on the grille and mohair rugs for the tootsies of the lucky 200 drivers who will be seen speeding about China and Dubai in this limited edition Evoque. Range Rover is charging close to double for the VB designed vehicle. What marketing geniuses thought this one up? A gentler pallet and more nuanced touches for the discerning driver...that's definitely worth another $60K. Ah the comfort that detail can bring to the discerning consumer. An investment in taste no doubt. This highlights that nothing is out of reach if one's trajectory is as sky high as VBs. Good on her I say. She said she has designed a car that she would like to drive. If only we all could, it would be like being a child again. Personally, I'd prefer it if Jensen Button designed one or maybe James Bond, but hey, that's just me. If anyone is ever feeling despondent about their career, just tell them VB's designed a car and that nothing, but nothing is out of their reach if they are prepared to go for it! In the wise words of the once great Spice Girls...'Hai See Ya, hold tight!'.

Boobies
I don't know how other women think when it comes to their own boobies but I think quite a lot about mine. In my younger years I had one hell of a rack and I had hoped (dreamt/deluded) that this would remain despite desires to procreate and feed my offspring. In my dreams I was a size 10D forever, pert and plumptious eternal. But I am a mum who has breastfed. Enough said. I recently purchased a bra for one of my breast friends Rosh's wedding, for whom I was a bridesmaid. We were given beautiful cream French dresses which required a beige brassiere...QUELLE HORREUR!!! I swore I would never wear such practical-sensible-un-sexy lingerie. I figured if I was going to purchase the daggiest of daggies it must give me the most extraordinary set of cans imaginable. This bra lifts me up where I belong; like the famous love song sung by Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes. Not quite to where the Eagles cry on mountains high; but by God do they elevate both my temporal body and my spirit. Its close to a religious experience for me. Said bra elongates and slims my waist, makes me appear taller and I walk prouder. Who would have thought that a piece of fabric (albeit an engineering and design feat worthy of Monsieur Eiffel),indeed a requisite garment, could make me feel ten years younger and walk taller! Its like getting a boob job without the pain and expense of surgery. To the good people at UK bra company Freya and the wonderful women at Brava on High Street Prahran, I salute you and am forever indebted to you. To my dear pal Rosh, thank you for the opportunity to feel like I have 20 year old titties again!
Christina Hendricks I salute you too!!! Real boobies, real size woman doing it proud...
Heads up - there will be an article about bobbies in tomorrow's SUNDAY AGE...check it
Adendum...I have not met Christina Hendricks and have not felt her boobs to be certain that they are real. I am going on pure boob instinct. They look real because they sit in different positions in different photos and appear to move organically. This may well be a feat of surgical genius but I think that they are just good old fashioned jugs.

arsenal of confectionary
After a long day of child rearing and general household chaos placating I ventured to the pantry for a special treat. As I reached for the jar of teeny tiny chocolatey orbs of sweetness; the tools of my parenting, as in slow motion I shockingly came to the realisation that my husband had eaten ALL of the smarties AND the M & Ms!!! How am I going to get my daughter to do anything??? Without these tiny tools of persuasion I am lost. I feel like I am venturing into Shakespearean pleas of help here. How does one attribute the same value to another 'special treat'? Can I convince my daughter that a strawberry is in fact far more of a bribe-worthy-entity than a single Smartie? I'm sure as heck going to have to try. I am not looking forward to tomorrow. In fact, I may have to pop down to my local 24 hour supermarket before she wakes so I am armed with my arsenal of power. Or I could harden the heck up and work out how to survive without the major artillery in my arsenal. WHy am I relating child rearing to waging war you might ask? Half the time I feel like Ban ki Moon assuaging diplomatic challenges and trying my hardest to remain Swiss. Neutrality is not always an option however. Sometimes even the Swiss need artillery. Chocolate couldn't be more fitting in this case. Survival of the fittest, and the fittest run on confectionary. Well fed well bred. Whatever gets us through the days...Cheers to Lidnt for inspiring an especially
child friendly bribe tool!
